An Anniversary Gift

In 2020, as COVID wrecked havoc across the world and in-person celebrations were put on hold, the Ford children were determined to still find some way to commemorate their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. I was provided with a 2”x 2” photocopy of a wedding photo, the location of their wedding, and their mother’s wedding veil. The challenge was to recreate a beautiful memory from 50 years ago, and something for them to enjoy every day moving forward.

The commissioned piece featuring John and Mary Ford on their wedding day uses acrylic, vinyl material, and of course Mary’s veil. A perfect example of how incorporating materials can make a piece of art even more personal.
